So, who’s Paul Horner? I had originally guessed that Paul Horner was just another alias, since he’s the recurring hero in many of the Super Official News pranks:
And then I get a Facebook friend request and message at 3:46 AM from the man himself, Paul Horner, thanking me for my “support.” I accepted the request and took a look at his profile.
Paul Horner is real. He lives in Phoenix and
sells mortgage leads runs “a web design company doing graphics, SEO and other web related stuff.” And he seems like a nice guy. Here’s how it went down:
He’s at least a part owner of Super Official News, and he’s bummed that it keeps crashing:
I asked Paul about Zhiqun Wang (my initial “suspect”). He doesn’t know him, he says. I guess it doesn’t matter anymore, since we’ve identified the real…hero?
Thanks for making us laugh, Paul. And bonus points for making all those bloggers eat crow! My favorite crow-eating moment was this, from Jezebel—every single word in the article is now lined out.
